Ticket types decide what a spot at your event costs and who it is for. Promo codes let you give specific people a discount or a free seat.
Ticket types
Open an event with Events, then New event (or Edit on an existing event). Under Ticket types, each ticket has:
- Name: for example "General admission" or "VIP".
- Price $: leave it blank for a free ticket.
- Member $: optional. Blank means members pay the regular price.
- Guest $: optional. Blank means this ticket does not offer guests.
- Capacity: optional. Blank means no limit for this ticket.
- Staff only: tick this to hide a ticket from the public page so only your team can register people on it.
Click Add type for more tickets. You cannot remove the last one, so add a replacement first. After the event exists, the Ticket types tab on its page lists them too.
Good to know
- Changing a price only affects people who register afterward. Earlier registrants keep the price they were charged.
- A free event needs nothing special: leave prices blank.
- When a ticket sells out, visitors can Join the waitlist.
- Payments go to your own payment account. Chamber Culture takes 0% of what you collect.
Promo codes
Promo codes are for chamber admins only.
- Open the event and click Edit, then scroll to Promo codes.
- Click New promo code.
- Enter the Code. Capitals or lowercase both work, and each code name can be used only once in your chamber.
- Choose Works for: this event or all of your events.
- Choose What it does: Free ticket, Percent off, or Dollars off each ticket.
- Optionally limit it by ticket, number of uses, tickets per order, and a Starts and Ends date. Add a Note for staff as a reminder.
- Click Create code.
On your event page, visitors type the code into the Promo code box and click Apply to see the new total. If a code cannot be used they see one short message, whatever the reason. Check the code's dates, uses and ticket if someone says it fails. Use Turn off to pause a code without deleting it.
Promo codes work on the public registration form, not on registrations you enter by hand.
