Your first broadcast feels like more work than it is. Once you have done it, the whole thing takes a few minutes.
Send an email
- Open Comms in the sidebar and select New email.
- Choose how to build it: Design with blocks for richer layouts with photos and video, or Classic composer for a simple heading, text and button.
- Under Segment, pick Pick a segment… and choose your audience. The recipient count appears right underneath. No segments yet? Use the create one link on that screen, or see the segments article.
- Enter a Subject. Add a Preheader if you like: the short preview line inboxes show beside the subject.
- Write your message.
- Select Send test to me and read the test in your inbox, on your phone as well if you can.
- Select Send or schedule…, check the recipient count shown, then select Send now. Or choose a date and time under Or send it later and select Schedule.
Save it for later
Select Save draft at any point. A draft never sends by itself. Come back to it from the Comms list.
Good to know
- Always send the test. It is the best way to catch a typo, a broken image or the wrong audience before members do.
- Sending cannot be undone. If you spot a mistake afterwards, a short follow-up note is the fastest fix.
- The count is live. The final audience is captured when you send, so it reflects who is in the segment at that moment.
- Same email every month? Open it in Comms and select Duplicate. You get a new draft with the same subject, content and audience, and nothing sends until you say so.
