Your directory is where visitors find your members and browse by type of business. It appears on your chamber's website, and you decide who is listed.
Who gets listed
A member appears when both of these are true:
- Their status is Active.
- Visible in public directory is switched on in their member form.
To hide a member without touching anything else, open Edit on their record and turn that switch off. Under it, Show representatives on the public listing controls whether their people appear.
Directory settings
Chamber admins can go to Settings, then Public directory. There you will find your directory page and the option to put it on a site you already have through Open Shareables. You can also choose Require staff approval before directory contact requests are emailed to members. When it is on, visitor messages wait in Inquiries for approval. To open your live directory, click Directory in the sidebar.
Business categories
Visitors browse by category, so tidy categories make a better directory. Go to Settings, then Business categories.
- Click New category.
- Enter a Name.
- Choose a Parent to nest it under another category, or leave it as no parent for a top-level one. Nesting goes one level deep.
- Set a Sort order. Lower numbers appear first, so space them out (10, 20, 30).
- Add an Image if you like, then click Save.
Use Edit to rename or reorder. Delete removes the category from every member who has it, and its subcategories become top-level, so rename instead if you are only reorganizing.
If a member is missing
- Check that their status is active.
- Check Visible in public directory.
- Check they have an Industry. Without a category they will not show up when visitors browse by category.
