Every mixer, luncheon and ribbon cutting starts the same way, with one form. Here is how to fill it in and when to publish.
Create the event
- Click Events in the sidebar, then New event.
- Enter a Title and a Description. Add a Flyer / poster image if you have one.
- Set the Start date and Starts time. Ends is optional. Turn on All day if there are no set hours.
- Fill in Venue, Address, City, State and ZIP code.
- Add a Capacity if you want a cap on total registrations. Leave it blank for no limit.
- Set up your ticket types (see "Tickets, pricing and promo codes"). Every event needs at least one, even a free one.
- Choose the Event type: chamber, member or community event. This sets the badge visitors see on your calendar.
- Click Create event.
Decide who sees it
- Published is off until you turn it on. An unpublished event is a draft that only staff can see, so you can plan privately.
- Public page is on by default. Turn it off to hide the event page completely.
- Show on the calendar and events list is on by default. Turn it off for a page you only share by link, such as vendor registration.
- ★ Featured spotlights the event on your public feed and website. One or two at a time works best.
Visitors see your events on your chamber's own website, so published events appear there.
Categories
Add up to 12 categories so visitors can filter your calendar. Pick from your list or type a new one and click Add. Manage the full list from Event categories at the top of the Events page.
Running it again next year
Click Duplicate on the event (or on its row in the Events list), pick the new start date, and you get a draft copy with the same details, ticket types and prices. Registrations, sales and check-ins do not carry over. Check the dates, then publish.
Cancelling
Open the event, click Edit, then Cancel event. The event comes off your public page and registration closes. Registrations are not cancelled for you: cancel each one from the Registrations tab, which also voids its open invoice.
